MC-type cartridge with Audio-Technica's flagship magnetic core with very high quality magnetic circuit.
The AT-ART9 inherits the basic magnetic design of the AT50ANV, which was developed as our 50th anniversary model. In addition, it reproduces high quality sound using the AT-OC9 / III vibration system.
The neodymium magnet and the permendur yoke have dramatically increased energy
magnetic A neodymium magnet is used with a maximum energy product BHmax of 50 [kJ / m3] while a permendur yoke is used with a high saturation flow density and excellent magnetic materials.
Hybrid body that reduces unnecessary parasitic resonance
The housing is made of machined aluminum materials and the lid is made of rigid plastic materials. This disperses the parasitic resonance and produces a clear sound quality.
Base in machined aluminum
The base that supports the magnetic circuit and the vibration system is made of machined aluminum material. This allows it to act as a solid base to support stable reproduction capacity.
Double moving coil with high separation and wide response
The basic structure is of the original MC type, with separate cylindrical coils on the left and right channels. Since the energy is generated independently in each of the left and right channels, this structure offers a truly superior separation. If the signal coming from the opposite channel comes out, this can cause intermodulation distortion and have a decisive impact on the audio quality and on how the stereo sound spreads. The structure of this product guarantees a clear and uniform sound. Furthermore, the two coils have an inverse V shape which reduces the actual moving mass seen from the tip of the stylus, limiting unnecessary coil movements and further eliminating distortion.
Stylus in contact with a special line and cantilever in solid boron with a diameter of 0.26 mm
The tip of the stylus is a type of special line contact with a radius of curvature of 40 µm × 7 µm (used in the AT50ANV) and a cantilever in solid boron with a diameter of 0.26 mm. This allows the accurate transfer of the musical signals read from the tip of the stylus on the magnetic coil.
High quality sound brass mounting screws
Two brass mounting screws are provided to secure the cartridge to the shell. They are perfectly suited to the high quality of the sound of the cartridge itself.
The PCOCC coil allows a purer transmission because it does not produce grain boundaries in the transmission direction.
