MC type non-magnetic core cartridge based on the AT50ANV commemorative model
This product maintains the basic design of the AT50ANV MC type non-magnetic core cartridge and changes the coil winding frame from a pure titanium armor to a newly developed liquid crystal polymer armor by injection molding. This product also manages to reduce the weight of the vibration system compared to AT50ANV and provides extremely natural and clear sound quality with the ability to express three-dimensional sound fields inherent to non-magnetic core types. Furthermore, this product allows an output voltage of 0.12 mV, a relatively high output level for a non-magnetic core system.
Induced in liquid crystal polymer
The liquid crystal polymer used for the coil winding frame has not only extreme mechanical strength but also a unique property that increases mechanical strength as the product thins. Therefore it is a more suitable material for the cartridge vibration system. This has high intensity properties and vibration absorption, allowing high quality sound by suppressing unwanted vibrations from power generation.
New concept magnetic circuit that maximizes magnetic energy
The magnetic circuit of this product uses a large neodymium magnet with about twice the volume of normal MC-types with an Audio-Technica ferrite core. (Maximum energy product BHmax: 50 [kJ / m3]) Also the parts of the permendur magnetic circuit located around the magnet were recently designed to maximize the strength of the intensive magnetic field in the coil gap. This magnetic circuit increases the output voltage and also improves the reproduction capability in the mid-low frequency range which is said to be a weak point of traditional non-magnetic MC core types. This provides a very accurate frequency response.
Stylus in contact with a special line and cantilever in solid boron with a diameter of 0.26 mm
The tip of the stylus is a special line contact type with a radius of curvature of 40µm x 7µm (used in the AT50ANV) and a cantilever in solid boron with a diameter of 0.26 mm. This allows the accurate transfer of the musical signals read from the tip of the stylus onto the moving energy-generating coils.
Base in machined aluminum
The base that supports the magnetic circuit and the vibration system is made of machined aluminum material. This allows it to act as a solid base to support stable reproduction capacity.
Hybrid body that reduces unnecessary parasitic resonance
The housing is made of machined aluminum materials and the lid is made of rigid plastic materials. This disperses the parasitic resonance and produces a clear sound quality.
