Based on the analogue legacy of Audio-Technica and over 50 years of Japanese audio design, the AT-LP5x features updated technology while maintaining the contemporary style and acclaimed performance of its predecessor, the AT-LP5.
The LP5x retains the J-shaped arm, a design inspired by the classic Audio-Technica models of the 60s and 70s and features a metallic gimbal suspension system and precision bearings to mitigate tracking errors. The arm also includes an adjustable counterweight and an anti-skate control and is equipped with a light shell for the AT-HS6 head (9.3g) and the AT-VM95E double-magnet black stereo cartridge.
Constructed of anti-vibration materials with heavy-weight metal inserts, the AT-LP5x turntable has been designed to limit low frequency acoustic feedback. Its precision-machined die-cast aluminum plate is powered by a direct and silent transmission motor, ensuring a stable rotation on the axis at 33-1 / 3, 45 and 78 rpm. A 5 mm thick anti-vibration mat that isolates from low frequency feedback and provides a highly stable surface for all LP formats on top of the plate.
The AT-LP5x is equipped with a built-in switchable MM / MC phono / line preamplifier that allows it to connect directly to a computer, a home stereo, amplified speakers and other components that do not have a dedicated turntable input. The selection of MM / MC cartridges allows an easy upgrade to a moving reel with additional equipment. The turntable is also equipped with a USB output for direct connection to a computer.
