The estate covers an area of 35 hectares of which a good 12,5 consist of vineyards. The grapevines form a garland adorning the entrance to the village both to the left and to the right of the country road from the north covering an extensive, sun-drenched cone of rubble. The varieties of grapes have been selected by the winery for their suitability to the terrein. The rich, warm soil which is sandy and stony offers the ideal conditions for the three most important varieties to grow: Cabernet, Merlot and Lagrein.
One of th emost important steps in the making of a special wine starts with careful work in the vineyard itself. This requires a great deal of manual labor but the reward is plenty of healthy ripe grapes at harvest time. After being crushed the must is fermented exclusively in tempaerature-regulated steel tanks. After ten to fourteen days fermentation the young wine is drained into concrete barrels for the maturation process to be completed. Due to their special heat-storage properties these concrete barrels are ideal containers for malolactic fementation. Maturation of the wine is completed in the appropriate wooden barrels. The result is a fullbodied intense and elegant wine.
