Wine Friuli Colli Orientali DOC Cl. 50

Verduzzo friulano has always been cultivated in Friuli. It is a strong and generous native anti-co vine that gives an extremely sugary fruit, but compensated by pleasantly defined tannins. Ap-passito on racks to obtain a high concentration, it gives life to sweet wines of character.

Altitude: 120 - 150 m s.l.m.

Training method: Guyot

Plant density: 4,000 vines per hectare

Grape yield: about 60 quintals per hectare

Alcohol: 13.5%

Vinification: The grapes are harvested manually and tar-divamente (in late October) and placed on racks for drying which lasts about 2 months. After destemming and pressing, the must is left to stand for a long time at cellar temperature in steel tanks and partly in oak barrels. Following a refinement of 6 months in the bottle before being marketed.

The Wine: Golden yellow with subtle coppery nuances. On the nose, peach and apricot are perceived. In the youth also the banana. On the palate the enveloping sweetness of the sugars is mitigated by the typical tannic outfit of the vine, which makes it intriguing and never cloying.

Pairings: Typical dessert wine, in particular it goes well with desserts of the popular tradition such as Gubana or Bisciola. It also goes well with medium-season-nature cheeses and with ham with figs.
